If you’re looking for a Saturday event for you and your kids, here’s one that’s different. The Junior League of Durham and Orange counties will hold the “Touch a Truck” event tomorrow from 9-5 at the Belk at The Streets of Southpoint.
Kids of all ages will be able to explore vehicles including a Triangle Transit bus, fire engine, cement truck, police car, tow truck, ambulance, bulldozers and so much more. Children and their families will even have the opportunity to participate in the Ident-A-Child program which includes fingerprinting and taking a photo of the child for the parent or guardian’s records. Additionally, Touch a Truck will have plenty of activities for children of all ages including games, arts and crafts, a healthy eating station, inflatable bounce houses, and appearances by local team mascots.
Tickets are $5 each or $15 for a family of 4. The funds raised go to help the Durham Performance Learning Center, a Communities in Schools initiative, and a recently launched anti-bullying initiative.
It’s just one of the many community events that Triangle Transit participates in during the year. Come support transit and the Junior League if you can.
Have a great weekend!
