Quick! A Father/Survivor/Bike Commuter needs your help.

Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 16. Even if you think it’s just another “Hallmark holiday” I bet you a dollar to a doughnut that you’ll be moved to help this Durham dad prove the truth of IronMan’s mantra– ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

Greg Sousa is 43, a father of two, a dedicated bike commuter, and an athlete. He also has brain cancer. He was diagnosed last year and is currently undergoing his eleventh round of chemotherapy. Despite being fatigued from his meds, Greg has continued to train so he can compete if he wins one of six spots provided by Kona Inspired.

The Ironman World Championship is perhaps the world’s most famous test of endurance. Participants must qualify to compete in a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike race, and a 26.2 mile marathon. To put it in perspective, of the more than 100,000 people who try to qualify for Kona, only about 2000 will get invitations. There are six coveted spots for people who wouldn’t normally be invited to compete, and Greg, now a finalist for Kona Inspired, is in the running.

Greg is in the first group of 15 finalists, and voting ends tomorrow, June 15, at 11:59pm. You can help send him by clicking here and sharing far and wide with your friends.

We at GoTriangle wish Greg a happy Father’s Day. Now, go click to #SendGregToKona!
