Two weeks ago, I posted a blog entry titled “The Day We Became Atlanta.” At the time, I thought most of our winter weather had passed, and I wouldn’t have to bring this up again. And then the snowpocalypse happened…again. The ensuing traffic resulted in photos like this, which reached the top post on social news site Reddit’s front page:
No, that’s not photoshop. It was taken right on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh. However, you may recall the “Walking Dead” TV show photoshop comparisons that came out of Atlanta after their snowpocalypse:
Raleigh wasn’t immune to the photoshop treatment either. Our token snowpocalypse photo took on many forms, including a Star Wars cameo:
Thankfully, we are living in a galaxy far, far away from the planet Hoth. Maybe in the not so distant future, we’ll also be living in a world where people travel on light rail, not by light speed, and we won’t have to worry about hitching a ride home on our neighborhood AT-AT.
