Since the Fortify Project road construction patterns were put in place, we’ve found out that increased traffic doesn’t have to mean increased stress.  So several weeks ago, the GoTriangle team sat down with Triangle Transit vanpool manager Vanessa Bayer. We learned how vanpool can be a great Fortify commute alternative, especially for those wanting some commute flexibility (and new friends). Find out why here.



“Consider this: For hours on end, transit drivers manage to keep a schedule, check fares, give directions, announce stops, remember stop requests and more, all while safely maneuvering an extra-large vehicle through unpredictable traffic, adverse weather conditions and some really tight spaces! The fact is, transit drivers don’t have an easy job, they just make it look that way.”

Today marks Transit Driver Awareness Day, a day honoring bus and rail operators around the globe. Why March 18th? It’s believed to be the first day that bus service debuted in Paris in 1662 – 352 years ago. Read more about the history of public transportation on
