Two Link Tuesday

“We know that our customers want a consistently reliable and fast on-board Wi-Fi experience–something we cannot guarantee today on our busiest trains when hundreds of customers want to go online at the same time. We want to make that possible.”

“Orange Is the New Black” fans, rejoice. No longer must you spend your ride on Amtrak angsting over what happens next in Litchfield Penitentiary – with proposed wifi updates, you’ll soon be able to stream Netflix straight from the train. Amtrak wifi quality has limited passengers to sending emails or browsing websites in the past, but thanks to a recent round of talks, it’s time to move on to the next big thing. Get your Netflix queue ready.

“Google recently beefed up Google Now’s public transportation abilities with a feature that I’m sure riders of buses and trains will love.”

While you’re filling up your Netflix queue, you may want to go ahead and add Google Now to your download to-do list. The latest app update includes a handy new feature: stop alerts.  Poised to make sure you never miss your bus stop again, Google Now can recognize when you’re nearing your work or home address and alert you to get off. Find out how it works here.
