Happy Tuesday! It’s been three weeks since I started #CarlessMarch. Let me tell you, it hasn’t been without bumps in the road. Read on for this week’s update!
1. #CarlessMarch Week Three
Full disclosure: I haven’t been able to stay completely car-free. Ugh. I hate saying that. However, I’ve been able to stick to it most when my friends and co-workers were sticklers.
For example, a co-worker invited me to an event, emphasizing that she could drive me. When I drove to work one day so I could pick up lunch, my department chastised me. The moral of the story is, just ask. If you aren’t sure how to stay car-free, 1) ask for a ride, 2) check TransLoc for a route, or 3) consider why you even need to get in the car.
You won’t get through any goal without strong support…and some people need incentives. That’s why we have GoPerks! You could get prizes for your daily commute, read more here: gosmartnc.org/goperks.
2. GoDurham Public Meeting
